There is something powerful about slowing down enough to truly notice what is happening within you.
Equine Gestalt Coaching brings that awareness into partnership with a horse, creating an opportunity to explore your thoughts, emotions, patterns, choices, and experiences in the present moment.
The horse is a partner in the process—but you are at the center of the work.

The Equine Gestalt Coaching Method® was developed by Melisa Pearce, a core founder since 1989, of the horse-human healing movement. The experiential nature of the method involves the horse as an active partner with the coach in the client’s exploratory process. The integrative approach of the equine’s interaction combined with positive coaching, somatic awareness guidance and Gestalt methodology, assists the client in examining their life and choices made with a focus on designing a positive future.

The horse isn't there to fix you, give you answers, or tell you what you should do.
They are a partner in the process.
Horses are incredibly aware of what is happening around them. They respond to movement, body language, attention, and what is happening in the moment.
That can create opportunities for you to notice things about yourself that you may not have noticed before.
Maybe you become aware of how you communicate.
Maybe you notice what happens when you feel uncertain.
Maybe you recognize a familiar pattern in the way you approach connection, boundaries, control, or trust.
There is no right or wrong way to experience it.
The goal isn't to make the horse do something.
It's to become curious about what you are experiencing.
The horse is a partner in the work, but you are at the center of it.

There isn't a script you have to follow.
You don't have to arrive knowing exactly what you want to work on, and you don't need to have the perfect words.
We start with what's present for you.
We might talk about something happening in your life. We might slow down and notice what you're feeling. We might pay attention to what is happening in your body or explore a pattern that keeps showing up.
And when you're working alongside a horse, we can also become curious about what you're experiencing in your interactions with them.
Sometimes there is an unexpected realization.
Sometimes there is emotion.
Sometimes there is laughter.
Sometimes there is simply a moment of noticing something you hadn't seen before.
The work isn't about forcing an outcome.
It's about creating space to become more aware of yourself and what is happening for you in the present moment.

Equine Gestalt Coaching may be something to explore if you're:
You don't have to be a horse person.
You don't need to know how to ride.
You don't need to have everything figured out.
You just need to be willing to slow down, get curious, and see what you might discover.
